Muscle weighs more than fat, but it also uses more energy. The average woman in her 30’s who does strength training 2x/week for 30-40 minutes will increase her resting metabolism by up to 100 calories a day. So, if you are a “cardio only” individual – time to add some strength or resistance training.
A few ideas to get your started:
- Hire a personal trainer to ensure you are doing the right types of exercises for your goals and to ensure that you do not injure yourself;

- Purchase a DVD to start working out at home. I have enjoyed the Biggest Loser DVD’s. They have various levels so you can start where you are at.
